Euronews reported on the possible separation of the tracks of Ukraine and Moldova's accession to the EU

As part of the discussions on joining the European Union (EU), the ways of European integration of Moldova and Ukraine may diverge, although previously their applications were considered together. This was reported on June 22 by Euronews TV channel.

"From the very beginning, the applications of Moldova and Ukraine for EU membership were informally linked. But now, after the opening of the first block of negotiations, the two candidates may part ways," the publication says.

The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, noted on the social network X on the same day that countries would independently take responsibility for themselves and for the reforms carried out for European integration.

"As soon as the first cluster was opened, each candidate country is responsible for itself. After all, they have to carry out reforms," she said.
