Olga Leskovets, head of the Krasnaya Sloboda farm, told how to grow good strawberries.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Monday, June 22, the farmer noted that strawberries grown for self-harvesting are often different from berries from stores. According to her, farmers often choose more fragrant and juicy varieties that do not tolerate transportation, so the most intense taste can be felt in the field.

The expert noted that today families with children and young couples are increasingly coming to self-assembly, for whom such a trip becomes not only a way to buy berries, but also an opportunity to spend time in nature.

Leskovets also said that proper agricultural technology is of great importance. To grow strawberries, a mulching cloth is used, which helps retain moisture and protects against weeds, and the plants themselves are watered with water from local reservoirs. In addition, preference is given to zoned varieties adapted to the local climate.

According to the farmer, the taste of berries is more influenced by growing conditions, care of plantings and good ventilation of plants.

Before that, on June 20, Olga Semenova, an agronomist and consultant for summer residents, told Pravda.Ru how to save strawberries after heavy rains. According to her, first of all it is necessary to carry out an audit of bushes and remove berries with mold. It is also important to dry the soil and use biologics based on beneficial bacteria or antagonistic fungi.

On the same day, it became known that over 50 tons of strawberries had been bought at Moscow fairs since the beginning of summer, writes Moscow 24. The first shipments of strawberries from the south of Russia arrived at Moscow fairs in May. In June, a berry from Central Russia appeared on the shelves, known for its juiciness and sweet taste due to the peculiarities of the climate, notes 360.ru . To choose the best strawberries, you should pay attention to their appearance: the berry should be evenly colored, without pale areas near the stem, elastic and with a pronounced aroma, according to the Moscow City News agency.

Nutritionist Daria Rusakova said on June 15 that the use of strawberries should be limited or excluded in a number of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys, blood clotting disorders and a tendency to allergies. Diabetics should eat strawberries with caution, writes RT.

In May, nutritionist Mariyat Mukhina, in an interview with the National Health Service, said that strawberries should not just be washed under water, they should be given contrast baths, since micro-bones are very poorly washed. Strawberries lie on the ground, so they may include larvae of roundworms and roundworms.

At the same time, nutritionist Natalia Pavlyuk warned about the consequences of excessive consumption of strawberries. According to her, people with allergies, individual intolerance or cross-allergic reactions should be more careful with berries.
