The hydrological situation in Transbaikalia has been under special control since June 18. Based on the forecasts of the Hydrometeorological Center, flood development models have been developed, which have been transmitted to all services, the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.
On Monday, June 22, the department hosted a meeting of the regional commission for emergency prevention and response. The main topic was the situation with flooding, which caused heavy rains and rising water in the rivers.
At the meeting, they said that the situation is most difficult in the Chernyshevsky district. Three residential buildings and 46 household plots in Aksenovo-Zilovsky, Bukachach, Uliakan, Bukhta and Bushuley were flooded.

Specialists from fire and rescue unit No. 38, a search and rescue squad and a group of drones are working in the affected area. Six temporary accommodation facilities for 300 people have been deployed.
Following the meeting, it was decided to introduce a high-alert mode for the emergency forces. The heads of districts were instructed to monitor river levels around the clock, strengthen dams, check water intakes, ensure the readiness of equipment and accommodation facilities, as well as strengthen the notification of residents.
Earlier it was reported that more than 60 km of dams were erected in Transbaikalia to protect settlements from floods. Dozens more kilometers of similar structures have been restored.
