Belarus has nominated a Russian woman for the post of head of the International Bendy Federation

The Bandy Federation of Belarus has nominated Alina Borodaeva, a member of the executive committee of a similar Russian organization, for the post of president of the International Bandy Federation (FIB). Viktor Plyats, chairman of the Belarusian Bandy Federation, announced this on June 22.

"Our federation has nominated Alina Borodaeva for the post of president of the International Bandy Federation. We have coordinated this issue not only within our federation, but also discussed the candidacy with representatives of Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and China, who also support her candidacy," he told TASS.

The previous president of FIB resigned after the executive committee of the organization declared a vote of no confidence in him due to the refusal to return Russian and Belarusian teams to international competitions. The election of the new head of the International Federation will take place on July 19.

On June 18, Henrik Nilsson, President of the International Bandy Federation (FIB), decided to leave his post due to disagreements within the organization regarding the admission of Russian athletes to competitions. According to Nilsson, his vision of the situation is fundamentally different from the position taken by the majority of members of the federation committee in relation to Russia.
