On the night of June 27-28, the main celebration of Russian graduates "Scarlet Sails" will take place in St. Petersburg. The event will culminate with a water and pyrotechnic show in the Neva River with the passage of the legendary brig Rossiya. The Fifth Channel will broadcast the holiday. The live broadcast will begin at 22:00 with a concert on the Palace Square, and at 00:40 the audience's attention will switch to the Neva River, where the snow-white brig Rossiya will take place under scarlet sails.

In 2026, the brig will repeat last year's route: it will start moving from the Senate Square, pass under the Palace Bridge and perform a 360-degree turn opposite the Winter Groove. Then the ship will head to the Troitsky Bridge, after which it will proceed back along the Palace Embankment.

According to Anton Alekseev, a sailor of the brig Rossiya, the fireworks, music and passage of the sailboat must match perfectly to create a complete and beautiful picture. The first viewers who attended the rehearsal of the holiday have already shared their impressions, noting that what they saw makes a strong impression and resembles real magic.

In 2026, the festive event is scheduled for June 27.

The holiday "Scarlet Sails" is named after the eponymous novel-extravaganza by Alexander Green. It was first held in 1968 in Leningrad, when the yacht Metalist under scarlet sails solemnly passed along the Neva River. Until 1979, the holiday was held every year. During this time, the main "character" of the prom has changed many times. So, in 1970, the Leningrad schooner replaced the Metallist, and in 1971 the Neva caravel joined it. From 1972 to 1979, the Bermuda schooner Kodor participated in the celebration together with the Leningrad. However, then the bright tradition was interrupted.

The Scarlet Sails holiday was revived in 2005 with the participation of ROSSIYA Joint Stock Bank, the Government of St. Petersburg and Channel Five. Since then, it has attracted tens of thousands of graduates and millions of TV viewers from all over the world every year.

Earlier it became known that the Fifth Channel's project "Scarlet Sails – 2025" was awarded the TEFI television Award in the nomination "Broadcast of a cultural event".
