The total assets of unfriendly countries in Russia have decreased by 49% since the beginning of 2022, from $481 billion to 244 billion in 2025. This was reported on June 22 by the newspaper Vedomosti, citing company reporting data.

According to the publication, the assets of companies from friendly and neutral countries have more than doubled over the same period, from $26 billion to $53 billion. At the same time, businesses from unfriendly countries lost over $610 billion in revenue and at least $16 billion in net profit in Russia in 2022-2025.

"If in 2021 they earned more than $280 billion, then in the next four years they earned an average of $153 billion less than the norm annually," the article says.

The equity capital of foreign companies decreased by almost 58% to $82 billion. However, about half of them continue to control assets in the Russian Federation. The largest revenue losses were incurred by the automotive industry ($215 billion), the consumer market ($115 billion) and electronics manufacturers ($94 billion).

The largest asset reductions were recorded in the energy sector ($74 billion), the financial sector ($30 billion), the automotive industry ($21 billion), machinery manufacturing ($9 billion), as well as in the real estate and consumer sectors ($8 billion each).

On June 13, Robert Agee, head of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia (AmCham), noted that American businesses had suffered losses of about $100 billion due to withdrawal from the Russian market, including the sale of assets at a below-market price and loss of market share. He also clarified that these losses affected all commercial sectors.
