The Pacific Fleet conducted an exercise to rescue the crew of a submarine
In Peter the Great Bay, rescuers of the Pacific Fleet practiced the evacuation of the crew of a conditionally emergency submarine. This was reported on June 22 in the press service of the fleet.
According to the scenario, the Ufa diesel-electric submarine simulated a landing on the ground at a depth of more than 70 m. The rescue vessel Igor Belousov moved to the incident area, and with the help of the autonomous uninhabited Panther spacecraft, it detected an "emergency" submarine. An autonomous deep-sea vehicle "AS-40" was used for evacuation, which, after diving, provided air, technical fluids and power to the submarine, and then brought part of the crew dry on board.
"The Pacific Fleet conducted an exercise to assist an emergency submarine lying on the ground and rescue its crew. During the exercise, the fleet's search and rescue support forces searched for an emergency submarine, examined it, and rescued three submariners using a deep-sea rescue vehicle," said the head of the Department of Search and Rescue Operations Pacific Fleet Captain 1st rank Anatoly Sagarev.
After the ascent, the submariners were taken to the deep-sea diving complex GVK-450 "Dolphin-GVK", where they were provided with medical care in an outpatient clinic with a full set of equipment. A staff ship's doctor conducted an initial examination of the submariners, checking their condition after a simulated accident.
The exercises are aimed at working out the interaction of rescuers and equipment in case of accidents at underwater facilities, maintaining high readiness of personnel and improving evacuation methods. The event was led by the Chief of Staff of the Pacific Fleet, Vice Admiral Sergei Rekish.
On June 18, the Pacific Fleet press service reported that in Kamchatka, in the Avacha Bay, the Gremyashchy corvette of the Pacific Fleet's Water Area protection ships successfully completed artillery firing during the course task. A mandatory element of going to sea was to conduct a complex of anti-ship defense training: the destruction of unmanned boats, unmanned aerial vehicles and anti-sabotage ship defense measures at sea.
