Former world number one Serena Williams will take part in Wimbledon 2026. This was announced on June 21 by the press service of the tournament.

"Serena Williams will participate in the women's singles at Wimbledon in 2026," reads a message on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

It is specified that the 23-time Grand Slam champion received a wild card to perform in singles.

On June 21, Russian tennis player Lyudmila Samsonova beat Katerina Sinyakova from the Czech Republic in a WTA match in Bad Homburg, Germany, and advanced to the second round of the tournament. The meeting between the Russian, ranked 35th in the world ranking, and the 34th racket of the world Sinyakova ended with a score of 6:3, 7:5.
