The attacker of the Krasnodar shopping center threw pyrotechnics at a children's entertainment center

An attacker who carried out an armed attack at the West Mall shopping center in Krasnodar threw a pyrotechnic device at a children's entertainment center. This was announced on June 20 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk.

"The offender threw a pyrotechnic device into the room where the children's entertainment center is located. Previously, there were no casualties, the fire alarm went off," she wrote in her Telegram channel.

In the video attached to the publication, the young man said that he lived in an incomplete family with many children — his father died, and his mother raised another son and two daughters besides him.

The young man worked in one of the small construction shops, never drank or used drugs. I started smoking recently.

An investigative task force is currently working at the scene.

The attack at the West Mall took place on June 20. As a result of the incident, a woman was killed and five other people were injured. A criminal case has been opened in the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in accordance with Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder") and Part 3 of Article 30 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Attempted murder"). As indicated by the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratiev, the condition of the victims of the attack in the Krasnodar shopping center of moderate severity. According to him, women aged 27, 38, 64 and 65, as well as a 55-year-old security guard, were injured.

A young man armed with a machete, who, as Izvestia found out, turned out to be 19-year-old Grigory A., was detained by one of the visitors. The young man argued his crime with the desire to commit suicide.

The mother of one of the girls who witnessed the crime shared with Izvestia that her daughter saw a young man pouring some liquid in the building. Another woman added that the attack lasted about half an hour during which screams, clapping and even shooting could be heard.
