The State Duma proposed discussing the recalculation of pensions for working pensioners

In Russia, it is necessary to return to the discussion of recalculation of pensions for working pensioners. This was announced on June 20 by Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

"President [of Russia Vladimir Putin] has given instructions, amendments have been made to pension legislation, and we have been indexing pensions for working pensioners for several years now. The question is closed in this part. But what is needed next, continuing the theme of protecting pension rights and improving the pension system, what needs to be done? This is to return to the issue of full—fledged recalculation of pensions for our pensioners who work," Nilov told RIA Novosti.

According to the MP, pension indexation for working pensioners is already underway, but the system requires further improvement. He noted that the recalculation of pensions is carried out from August 1, but there is a limitation: only three pension points are taken into account, whereas up to ten can be earned per year of work.

At the same time, there is no provision for co—financing from the budget - as employers will be involved in transferring payments for employees.

Earlier, on June 19, it was reported that the average pension of working and non-working Russians in May 2026 amounted to more than 25.3 thousand rubles, and over the year the figure increased by about 2 thousand rubles. As of May 1, 2026, the average pension was 25,399 rubles.
