Over the past day, 25 aftershocks have been registered in the Kamchatka Territory. This was announced on June 20 in the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

"In Kamchatka, 25 seismic events ranging in magnitude from 3.6 to 6.9 were registered per day. Three tremors were felt on the territory of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky city district with a force of up to 4 points," the message in the Maks messenger says.

The ministry recalled that Kamchatka belongs to earthquake-prone regions.

Strong tremors can cause landslides, avalanches, and damage to infrastructure.

On June 19, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Kamchatka Territory reported that a magnitude 6.9 earthquake that occurred off the coast of Kamchatka was felt in some areas of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky with a force of up to four points, and no evacuation was carried out. Aftershocks of magnitude 6.9, 5.6, 5.1 and 4.8 were recorded in the area from 151 to 178 km from the city. The weakest recorded earthquake was magnitude 3.7.
