- Trump expressed hope that the United States and Iran will resolve issues on the deal in 60 days.
On June 19, President of the United States Donald Trump expressed hope that Washington and Tehran would be able to resolve all issues during 60-day negotiations, and there was no need to resume hostilities.
"I have 60 days to make a deal. Otherwise, we will take steps that they will not like. But I don't think it will come to that. I think everything will be very good," the American leader said during the presentation of the new Air Force One aircraft at Andrews Air Force Base.
If the United States has to take such measures, it will no longer be possible to quickly ensure the passage of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, he noted.
"Owners of ships worth billions of dollars don't like it at all when missiles fly over them. They also don't like mines placed in the water area," Trump explained.
On June 17, the United States and Iran signed a memorandum on the cessation of hostilities. On June 17, Trump stressed that the United States would resume bombing Iran if the final agreement specified in the memorandum was not reached within 60 days.
According to Bloomberg, on June 18, several tankers, including those belonging to Saudi Arabia, began passing through the Strait of Hormuz after the conclusion of agreements between the United States and Iran. US Vice President Jay D. Vance canceled his trip to the solemn conclusion of the deal between Tehran and Washington, CNN correspondent Caitlan Collins reported on June 18.
