The body of a 15-year-old teenager who drowned in a mountain river was found in Karachay-Cherkessia.

The body of a 15-year-old teenager who drowned in the Marukha mountain river has been found in Karachay-Cherkessia, the main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the republic reported on June 19.

On the same day, it became known that a teenager had been swept away by the current while swimming on the Marukha River near the village of Kardonikskaya.

The body of the deceased was discovered during search operations two kilometers from the alleged scene. The video shows that rescuers are combing the river area near the dam. Further searches in the Karachay district have been suspended.

In addition, on the same day, an inflatable catamaran with two tourists capsized on the Uchkulan River in Karachay-Cherkessia — one of them was swept away by the current, and they are still looking for him. The second tourist managed to get out of the water on his own.

As it became known to Izvestia, the rafting took place without official registration. Earlier in May, the men had already successfully crossed the same river on a catamaran.
