The actions "Memory Line" and "Memory Watch" will be held in Moscow on the Day of Remembrance and Mourning. Eternal flame." This was announced by the Moscow Directorate of Mass Events on Friday, June 19.

According to the organizers, events dedicated to preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War annually gather hundreds of Muscovites and guests of the capital. They are also joined by participants and veterans of the special military operation and their families, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

According to Alexey Fursin, head of the Moscow Department of Culture, the actions have become a symbol of the continuity of generations and the preservation of historical memory. Last year, more than 30 thousand people participated in them.

The Memorial Line campaign will be held on June 21 at 22:00 on the Crimean Embankment in the Muzeon Art Park. 1,418 candles will be lit there, according to the number of days of the Great Patriotic War. Everyone will be able to join and light their candle of remembrance, writes "Moscow 24".

The action "Memory watch. Eternal Flame" will take place on June 22 in the Alexander Garden. At 4:00 a.m., participants will hear an archive recording of Yuri Levitan's message about the outbreak of war, followed by a minute of silence. Then flowers and candles will be laid at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier.

Admission to both events will be free.

On June 18, it was reported that on June 21, an action "And tomorrow was War" will take place at the Northern River Railway Station, which will be held by the Victory Volunteers movement and the Moscow Public Relations and Youth Policy Committee. The participants will lay out the inscription "Moscow remembers" from more than 8 thousand candles in memory of the fallen defenders of the Fatherland.
