In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 249 perpetrators of forest fires were brought to administrative responsibility. The total amount of fines exceeded 1.2 million rubles, the press service of the regional prosecutor's office reports.
According to the KrasnoyarskMedia news agency, the punishment was not limited to fines only. The courts ordered the violators to compensate the damage to the forest fund and the cost of extinguishing the fire in the amount of more than 35 million rubles.
According to the department, 8 out of 10 forest fires are caused by humans. The main reasons are carelessness and disregard for basic safety rules. We are talking about bonfires in forbidden places, unopened cigarette butts and piles of dry grass.
Since June 10, a forest emergency regime has been in effect in the region. Visits to woodlands are restricted, bonfires and fire-hazardous work, burning of garbage and grass are prohibited. In addition to administrative liability, violators face criminal liability.
Earlier, Izvestia reported that as of mid-June, the probability of forest fires was noted in 86 regions of Russia. A special regime has been set at 50, and an emergency has been declared at four. Among the main reasons are dry thunderstorms, burning grass and violations of fire safety regulations.
