France called it impossible to lift UN sanctions against Iran without a decision by Paris

France wants to play a key role in the negotiations on Iran's nuclear program and will not approve the lifting of United Nations (UN) sanctions if Paris is not satisfied with the terms of the final agreement. This was announced on June 19 by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barraud, according to the Reuters news agency.

"France is a permanent member of the UN Security Council, therefore, as it was 10 years ago, France will have to give its consent to the lifting of sanctions," the head of the department said.

He added that sanctions can be lifted only in response to serious concessions from Tehran. Barro also drew attention to other areas of negotiations between the United States and Iran: the ballistic missile program and support for proxy groups in other Middle Eastern countries.

The French Foreign Minister believes that without discussing these issues and making serious concessions on them from the Islamic Republic, it will not be possible to achieve stability in the region.
