Performances on the Main and Other stages of the Sovremennik Theater will run until the end of July, which means that Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to see both the legendary productions of the theater and the most high-profile premieres of the 70th anniversary season.

The audience will see performances of various genres, from classics to modern drama, from large—scale productions on the Main Stage to chamber works on Another stage. The playbill of the theater includes the recent premiere of "The Marriage of Balzaminov" with Marina Neyolova, the plays "Intuition", "SASHASHISHIN", "Ark", "Chagin", "Duel" and many other productions that have captivated the Moscow theater audience.

"Hurry up to Do Good" is the latest premiere of the anniversary season. The play is based on the play by Mikhail Roshchin, which explores the theme of goodness and responsibility for noble deeds. On June 22, July 10 and July 27 on Another stage.

"The Miracle of St. Anthony" — June 21 and July 4 on Another stage. For the first time on the stage of Sovremennik, a unique play, staged at the time by E. By Vakhtangov and V. Meyerhold. M. Maeterlinck's world-famous plot is about a deceased old lady, whose relatives have already divided the inheritance, and the sudden appearance of St. Anthony, who did the incredible and, thus, greatly upset the plans of her relatives. A miracle will give life to one, and it will greatly spoil it for the other.: It's just a matter of luck. Only a sense of humor, irony, live music, bright festivities and enchanting theatricality can reconcile these extremes — it's not for nothing that the director defined the genre of the play as a mystical farce.

The play "Duel" is a story about how it's never too late to change your life and get out of a spiritual impasse, or at least try to do it. A psychological drama unfolds on the southern shore of the Black Sea, in a provincial town oppressive with its boredom and heat. Here, time freezes, and the flies endlessly buzzing over the heads of the characters become not only a symbol of stuffiness, but also of annoying truth, obsessive thoughts, and inner anxiety. A young official, Laevsky, ran away here with a married woman, Nadezhda Fedorovna, in search of love, freedom, and a "new life." But dreams turn out to be an illusion. Love is leaving. There is no money. Responsibility is burdensome. He only wants to escape again. His antagonist is Baron von Koren, a zoologist and Darwinist. He sees Laevsky as a parasite, a person harmful to society. This conflict develops into a duel — moral, ideological, and then into a physical one.

There is no black and white in this play. Here, each character goes through his own path to his true self: from condemnation to sympathy, from pride to forgiveness.

"Chagin" — there are memories that you cherish in your heart, but there are things that you want to erase from your life forever. But this is not available to Isidore Chagin: endowed with the unique ability to remember absolutely everything, he unwittingly becomes a hostage of his own memory. How can an ordinary person with a boring job, a typical apartment, and an unremarkable life manage their gift without betraying themselves and their loved ones? After all, everyone actually has a gift, but not everyone can use it for good. The performance, immersed in the novel of the modern classic Evgeny Vodolazkin, is full of dynamics and subtle humor. The idea of staging this text was born from director Sergei Tonyshev in the framework of the laboratory "I want to be O. N." And the tandem of a fashionable author and a promising director is the very essence of Sovremennik's philosophy.
