The capital has launched the patriotic project "Battle for Moscow", a series of historical quizzes for residents of all administrative districts of the city. The initiators were the Center for Youth Parliamentarism and the Moscow Regional Branch of the Russian Military Historical Society. This was stated by Marina Prozorova, Deputy head of the Department of Territorial Executive Authorities of Moscow.

"They are dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Soviet counteroffensive in the battle of Moscow. In an interactive form, participants will get acquainted with the exploits of the defenders and the names of outstanding military leaders, learn about the key moments of this stage of the Great Patriotic War," said Marina Prozorova.

Within the framework of the project, 10 district team tournaments will be held. The winners will meet in the final, which will be held on December 5 at the Victory Museum, on the anniversary of the beginning of the Soviet counteroffensive near Moscow.

Anyone between the ages of 16 and 30 who has joined the Youth Parliamentarism Center can take part in the quizzes. You can apply on the official website of the project.

Dmitry Sidorov, Chairman of the Moscow Regional Branch of the Russian Military Historical Society and Acting Rector of the Moscow State Institute of Culture, stressed that preserving historical memory remains one of the most important tasks of the society.

"Today, our duty is to preserve the memory of the events of the war years and pass it on to the modern generation so that no one will ever forget the price of Victory," he said.

In addition, the organizers have prepared a podcast "The Battle for Moscow", which will be published in the Moscow Youth Parliament community on VKontakte. Its expert was Mikhail Myagkov, Scientific director of the Russian Military Historical Society, MGIMO Professor, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and the young parliamentarians became the presenters.

Today, the Moscow Youth Parliament unites 132 regional youth chambers. Their activists participate in the political, social and cultural life of the capital, implement socially significant projects and develop their own professional competencies.
