The State Duma told about a fraudulent scheme to replace the intercom
The scammers began using a deception scheme disguised as employees of management companies (CC), offering residents free replacement of intercoms to gain access to accounts on the Gosuslugi portal. This was announced on June 19 by Sergey Kolunov, Deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.
According to the parliamentarian, the attackers call citizens and introduce themselves as employees of the Criminal Code or service organizations that service intercom systems. They inform you about the upcoming equipment upgrades and the possibility of getting new keys without paying at the appointed time.
"They are asking to write down the technical code of the intercom, saying that each apartment has a unique number order and it will come by SMS message. They are asking me to dictate this code," Kolunov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
As the deputy noted, after transmitting a combination of numbers, citizens receive notifications about hacking their account on Gosuslugi. Having gained access to a personal account, criminals begin to threaten to issue powers of attorney in their name, obtain loans and embezzle funds.
"It is important that codes from SMS and push notifications cannot be shared with anyone, even if the interviewee introduces himself as an employee of the management company. It is better to contact the management company personally and clarify the information," the parliamentarian added.
The expert of the "Popular Front. Galaktion Kuchava Analytics reported on June 18 that fraudsters are creating fake websites and messenger channels where they allegedly offer users scarce train tickets. He clarified that scammers take advantage of the rush of passengers who urgently need to purchase tickets, and require payment to an individual's card or through fake payment systems.
