Olympic champion Shaidorov was paid $250 thousand in Kazakhstan
Mikhail Shaidorov, the Olympic champion of 2026 in men's single skating, was paid a monetary reward of $ 250 thousand from the budget of Kazakhstan. This was announced on June 18 on the website of the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
"The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan has adopted a resolution on the payment of monetary rewards to the winner of the XXV Winter Olympic Games 2026, held in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Mikhail Shaidorov (figure skating), as well as Nadezhda Morozova (speed skating), who was among the top six athletes," the message says.
It is specified that Morozova's remuneration will be $ 5 thousand. Payments are also due to five coaches. The total amount of allocated funds is 250 million tenge (37.5 million rubles).
The relevant department stressed that in addition to financial payments, the winners of the Games are entitled to free living quarters. Apartments are allocated by regional authorities from the local communal housing stock.
On February 25, the press service of Astana City Hall reported that Russian coach Alexei Urmanov, who works with Shaidorov, was given the keys to a three-room apartment in Astana. Figure skater Sofya Samodelkina and coach of the Kazakhstan national figure skating team Asem Kasanova were also given the keys to one-room apartments.
