Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant specialists are conducting final tests of the updated UAZ Patriot SUV with a turbocharged diesel engine, they are being held at the NAMI test site in the Moscow region. This was reported on June 18 by Rossiyskaya Gazeta with reference to the company's press service.

UAZ said that in addition to road tests, Patriot participates in laboratory tests, where the car is checked for noise levels, vibrations, and the content of harmful substances in the exhaust. In parallel, resource testing continues — in the near future, cars will be tested on mountain stretches in southern Russia.

In May, the Sollers group posted a video on social media with a story about the updated UAZ Patriot SUV. Together with the restyled "Pro" and "Pickup" models, it should appear on the roads of Russia this fall.

In particular, the design of the front end of the SUV has changed, LED optics have appeared, and a new steering wheel has been installed. The Patriot will receive a two-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 136 hp of domestic production and an electromechanical transfer case with a washer control. A new six-speed manual transmission, also available in Russia, will be combined with the engine. It will be installed on cars with a 150 hp ZMZ Pro gasoline engine with a volume of 2.7 liters.

Earlier, on June 8, it was reported that the Sollers Group launched mass production at an industrial site in Ulyanovsk of passive safety system components — steering wheels, airbags and system control units. They will begin to equip cars of the Sollers and UAZ brands.
