The Swiss Foreign Ministry confirmed the plan to sign a memorandum between the United States and Iran on June 19.

The signing of the memorandum between the United States and Iran is scheduled to take place on June 19 in the Swiss city of Burgenstock. The Swiss Foreign Ministry announced this on its website on June 18.

"It is currently planned that a meeting of the United States and Iran, as well as intermediaries — Pakistan and Qatar and other interested countries — will take place tomorrow in Burgenstock to hold preliminary negotiations on the implementation of the agreement," the ministry said.

The country's Foreign Ministry indicated that information about the agenda of politicians and the schedule of the meeting cannot be disclosed for security and logistical reasons, and the circle of journalists who will be allowed to attend the event will be strictly limited and determined by the parties participating in the signing.

On June 17, US President Donald Trump stressed that the United States would resume bombing Iran if no final agreement was reached within 60 days, as indicated in the memorandum. It was noted that such a scenario is not desirable, but Washington considers it as a possible step.

On the same day, the US president announced Washington's intention to sign a memorandum with Tehran within 48 hours. It was noted that the document was finalized, but the meeting place was not designated. Later, Axios correspondent Barak Ravid added on June 18 that the countries had remotely signed a memorandum on the cessation of hostilities.
