On June 17, Kevin Warsh, the head of the US Federal Reserve System, announced at his first press conference his intention to review approaches to collecting and processing data reflecting the state of the American economy.

"The third working group dealing with data will evaluate new sources of information and consider methodological changes to improve data collection in order to provide decision makers with more accurate, relevant, timely and, perhaps most importantly, useful in practical terms information about the state of our economy," he said.
