The United Nations (UN) condemns attacks against civilians and non-residential infrastructure. This was announced on June 17 by the official representative of the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, commenting on the drone strike on a bus with children in the Bryansk region.

"We condemn any attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, wherever they occur. Such attacks are prohibited by international humanitarian law and must be stopped immediately," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Dujarric noted that the organization is aware of reports regarding an alleged drone attack on a vehicle. At the same time, the representative of the Secretary General did not specify which side committed this attack.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a bus carrying a children's football team from Gomel in the Bryansk region on the same day. Initially, it was reported that six people were injured in the incident, later this number increased to eight. The victim of the tragedy was one person, a woman who turned out to be the wife of one of the coaches.

On the fact of the incident, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on a terrorist act. Acting Governor of the Bryansk region Egor Kovalchuk called the incident a planned action by Kiev, and the staff of the Belarusian Union of Journalists — a provocation. Minsk promised to identify all those involved in this strike and bring them to justice.
