Reconstruction of the Stable Department began in St. Petersburg
The first stage of the reconstruction of the Stable Department has started in St. Petersburg. Emergency work is underway at the historic site, which will last 10 months, the Smolny press service reports.
Specialists will have to eliminate emergency defects in the buildings, clean and restore the walls, strengthen structures and foundations. Completion dates will be announced in the near future, when the complexity and scope of the work will be assessed.
According to the project, the complex will be integrated into the urban environment, writes 78.ru . The entrance to it will be provided through five historical pavilions. That is, a through passage will be organized from the Moika Embankment to Konyushennaya Square and from Konyushennaya Lane to the Teatralny and Malo-Konyushennoy bridges.
According to Governor Alexander Beglov, the investor undertakes to restore the facades and roofs of the Church of the Savior without Hands. The building is an integral part of the entire architectural complex.
As the head of St. Petersburg noted, significant preparations were made before the restoration of the department. The designers, investors and specialists of the KGIOP conducted in-depth historical and archival research and technical inspection of the facility.
In 2021, the Stable Department was recognized as an object of cultural significance of federal significance. After the upgrade, it will be adapted for modern use. The squares will be divided between public spaces (60%) and catering (40%).
Earlier it was reported that the house of I.F. Alexandrovsky on Nevsky Prospekt will be restored in St. Petersburg. The house is also known as the St. Petersburg Tula Land Bank building.
