The current course of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky does not match his promises, which he made during the presidential race. This was announced on June 17 by former presidential press secretary Yulia Mendel.

"You can no longer trust a single word Zelensky says," she wrote on the social network X (formerly known as the X-ray). Twitter).

Mendel recalled that in 2019, the current politician promised to stabilize relations between Moscow and Kiev. In addition, he even guaranteed that he would be ready to resign if he failed to do so. His priorities also included fighting corruption in the military.

"And today, he is fiercely opposed to the elections, while his inner circle, like those of his predecessor, continues to channel billions into their own businesses related to the conflict. We've all lost. Populism has won," said a former employee of the Kyiv city administration.

On the same day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova pointed out that Zelensky was trying to show how he allegedly runs the organization at the G7 summit in France. Zakharova added that in this way, the Ukrainian leader was trying to show who he considers "his own", as well as to demonstrate that he "is not just not forgotten, but is the center of the universe."

On June 16, Mendel noted that Western politicians who "joyfully" declared at the G7 summit their readiness to continue the conflict in Ukraine could not be considered the ones who would resolve the situation. The continuation of the conflict, in her opinion, will gradually destroy the entire nation and its future.
