The Meme politician called on Germany to reconsider its attitude towards Russia

Germany should reconsider its attitude towards Russia in order to reduce tensions. This was announced on June 16 by Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish national Conservative Freedom Alliance party.

"Perhaps a revision of military support for Ukraine would allow Germany to avoid further tension," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

According to the politician, Germany crossed the "red line" by providing military support to the Ukrainian side, and now fears possible retaliatory measures from Russia. He noted that Berlin had come to the conclusion that its capabilities were insufficient and was therefore increasing investments in rebuilding its own army.

Mema reiterated that the Russian Federation does not intend to attack Germany, but the main responsibility for possible changes lies with the German government headed by Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

Alexei Zhuravlev, First Deputy chairman of the State Duma's defense committee, noted on June 15 that Western countries would not be able to launch a surprise attack on Russian territory. He also stressed that Germany's statements encourage mobilization and preparation for possible strikes and subsequent retaliatory actions.

In April, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Germany had become the main sponsor of the conflict in Ukraine. According to her, the German authorities have spent more than €55 billion on the needs of the Ukrainian side.
