- The Ukrainian Armed Forces inflicted up to 50 strikes on the power plant and the transport workshop of the NPP per day.
Over the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have carried out about 50 attacks on Energodar, the satellite city of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), and on the transport workshop of the NPP itself. This was announced on June 17 by Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom State Corporation.
"The last 24 hours have brought new attacks. Somewhere up to 50 strikes were counted, including at night, in the city area. According to the transport workshop of the Zaporizhia nuclear Power Plant," Likhachev said at the Russia—ASEAN summit in Kazan.
He noted that there were no casualties as a result of the attacks, but pressure remains on the city's social infrastructure. According to the head of Rosatom, there is a limited power supply scheme in Energodar, there are interruptions to the Internet, and transportation of personnel and cargo is associated with constant risk.
At the same time, Likhachev stressed that the Zaporizhia NPP continues to operate normally. According to him, the station staff ensures the safe operation of the facility and prevents any incidents from occurring.
The head of Rosatom also said that the corporation continues to provide support to the plant's employees and residents of Energodar.
On that day, Maxim Pukhov, the head of the Energodar administration, reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had carried out 23 strikes on the Energodar in the Zaporizhia region during the day. Civilian facilities and infrastructure were damaged. According to the mayor, such reports have become part of everyday reality. Pukhov noted that Kiev continues to try to intimidate residents, damage civilian infrastructure and disrupt the usual way of life.
