The photographs of the Izvestia photographer were included in the shortlist of the Andrei Stenin competition.

The Organizing Committee of the XII Andrey Stenin International Photojournalism Competition has announced the shortlist for 2026. It includes works by photojournalists from 13 countries. Pavel Volkov, a photojournalist at Izvestia News Center, claims to win in the special nomination "Energy of Life. Photo series" — with pictures of "Requiem".

In 2026, the competitive shortlist brought together single images and a series of young photojournalists from 13 countries. The total number of works evaluated by the international jury in 2026 was about 2,500 works from 36 countries. The international jury of the XII Andrey Stenin International Photojournalism Competition includes Honored masters of photography, winners of high international prizes Alia Al-Shamsi (UAE), Guo Jing (China), Ivan Masyas (Mexico), Gurinder Osan (India), Patrick Baz (Lebanon), Grigory Dukor (Russia).

The prizes of the shortlisted nominees, as well as the Grand Prix winner, will be announced by the organizing committee of the contest in the fall at the Ceremony of announcing the winners, as well as on the Russian and English versions of the Stenin Contest website.
