Austria beat Jordan in the 2026 World Cup match

The Austrian national team began its performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a victory, beating the Jordanian team in the first round match of the group stage. The match took place on June 17 at Levi's stadium in the American Santa Clara and ended with a score of 3:1 in favor of the Austrians.

Romano Schmid opened the scoring in the 20th minute. In the second half, Jordan managed to regain its balance thanks to Ali Olwan's goal in the 50th minute. However, in the 77th minute, the defender of the Jordanian team, Yazan Al-Arab, sent the ball into his own goal, putting Austria ahead.
