The State Duma proposed to keep the indexation of insurance pensions from January 1.

On June 17, Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, made a proposal to maintain the indexation of insurance pensions from January 1.

The parliamentarian spoke out against returning to the previous procedure, according to which payments were recalculated from February 1 to the level of actual inflation.

"Starting next year, indexation is planned from February 1, according to the general rules, to the level of actual inflation, and from April 1, depending on the budget of the Social Fund. But I think it would be right to keep the current model and the familiar model from January 1," Nilov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The MP recalled that in 2025 and 2026, the indexation of insurance pensions was carried out from January 1. According to him, last year payments were additionally indexed on February 1 to match the level of actual inflation.

At the same time, there is no provision for co—financing from the budget - as employers will be involved in transferring payments for employees.

Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, said on June 16 that pensioners who worked in 2025 would receive a pension increase from August 1, 2026. She clarified that on October 1, the salaries of military personnel and security forces will be increased, which will entail an indexation of the pensions of their former colleagues.
