Russian welders can count on an insurance pension of about 36,000 rubles per month with an average salary of 105,000 rubles and 40 years of official work. This was announced on June 17 by Alexander Safonov, a professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

"With an average salary of 105,000 rubles and 40 years of service, the amount of a welder's insurance pension can be about 36,000 rubles per month," he told RIA Novosti.

According to him, the profession has become the highest-paid among working professions in Russia. Safonov stressed that in a year a Russian can accumulate up to ten pension points, which directly affect the size of a future pension, the cost of one such point this year is 156.76 rubles. With a salary of 105 thousand rubles, over 40 years of work, you can accumulate 169.2 retirement points.

The agency's interlocutor noted that the amount of the insurance pension can reach 72.3 thousand rubles per month with a maximum salary of 540 thousand rubles for a welder and 40 years of work experience. At the same time, the payment will amount to about 21 thousand rubles with a minimum wage of 45 thousand rubles for the same period of work. It is noted that specialists in this profession can retire 10 years earlier than the generally prescribed period due to harmful working conditions, and they can work out the rest of the length of service to increase the pension amount at another job.

At the same time, there is no provision for co—financing from the budget - as employers will be involved in transferring payments for employees.

Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, said on June 16 that pensioners who worked in 2025 would receive a pension increase from August 1, 2026. She clarified that on October 1, the salaries of military personnel and security forces will be increased, which will entail an indexation of the pensions of their former colleagues.
