The Bank of Russia has published methodological recommendations designed to help financial organizations ensure information security when using artificial intelligence (AI). This follows from a message posted on the regulator's website on June 16.

"This is the first document of the regulator, which systematizes the risks of using AI, describes possible tactics of attacks by intruders on AI systems and provides recommendations on protection measures. For example, if a financial institution uses AI in critical processes with high information security risks, in particular in payment transactions, it is recommended that the operation be confirmed by an employee," the message says.

In addition, market participants are encouraged to develop their own threat models and information security policies for working with AI. It is noted that the deputy head of the organization for information security should be responsible for the preparation of internal documents.

One of the sections of the document discusses information security when using AI services provided by service providers. The document clarified that the supplier's availability of an AI model that participates in the vulnerability detection program increases its credibility.

On June 11, Rosstandart reported that the agency had approved a new state standard for toys using AI technologies. It was noted that the document establishes safety requirements for interactive devices for children aged one to 14 years.
