Vance announced the inclusion of Israel and Lebanon in the deal between the United States and Iran

Agreements on the settlement of the conflict between Washington and Tehran will cover Israel, Lebanon and the Persian Gulf countries, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance said on Tuesday, June 16.

"This is a regional peace deal. It will include the [Persian] Gulf, it will include Israel, it will include Lebanon. The idea is that this is a real regional peace agreement," the American vice president said in an interview with journalist Megyn Kelly posted on the YouTube channel.

Moscow positively assessed the agreements between Washington and Tehran

On June 16, Vance stated that the Iranian-American memorandum is of a general nature, and its details will be finalized during the technical stage of negotiations. The text that the parties have already agreed on, according to him, takes only one and a half pages. It includes clauses on the commitment of Tehran and Washington to respect the concluded peace, as well as giving the American side initiative and leverage.

US President Donald Trump, who announced the partial opening of the Strait of Hormuz on June 15, did not rule out that he could also go to the signing ceremony with Vance. He also pointed to the ability to turn Washington into the "guardian" of the entire Middle East for 20% of the region's revenues and named the conditions under which he would begin lifting sanctions against Tehran.
