The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Treasury Department has extended the license for the Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) company until July 1. This was reported on June 16 by Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS).

"This license allows for the continuation of operations, contracts, and other agreements involving NIS or its operating subsidiaries, including oil refining, crude oil imports, operations necessary to ensure security of supply and maintenance, and financial settlements," RTS said in a statement.

On June 16, the Hungarian oil and gas company MOL, together with the Serbian government, signed an agreement on the future management of the Serbian oil refinery Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) in the event of the acquisition of NIS from Gazprom Neft. It was noted that the next stage after the signing of the current agreement is the completion of the purchase and sale agreement between MOL Group and Gazprom Neft for the acquisition of 56.15% of NIS shares.
