The third and final stage of the integration of the Shetab and Mir payment systems between Iran and Russia will be completed in the next two months. This was announced on June 16 by the head of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdolnaser Hemmati.
"The third and final stage of connecting bank cards connected to the Iranian Shetab network and the Russian Mir network has entered the implementation stage, and over the next two months, Iranian citizens will be able to make purchases in Russian stores and pay for purchases with a bank card connected to the Iranian Shetab network," Hemmati was quoted by the Iranian state television and radio company IRIB..
He noted that trade and banking relations between the two countries are on the rise, attention was paid to the development of banking cooperation. The head of the Central Bank also stressed that the issue of financial settlements between Iran and the Russian Federation should not be focused on "any particular place."
