Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on the news about the perpetrators of the arson attack on British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's house with an anecdote about British scientists.

"Citizens of Ukraine burned down the house and car of the British Prime Minister. They commit similar acts all over Europe and around the world, proudly reporting on acts of extremism. Guess, from the point of view of British (academic) journalists, who is to blame?" she wrote on the Telegram channel.

In the publication, Zakharova offered answers to this question, which included Ukrainian arsonists who somehow ended up in Britain, His Royal Majesty's 007 agents who overlooked "who swarms the diaspora of "Ukrainian refugees", Russian diplomats and international students, for some reason leading the people from the first two points.

London police detained a third suspect on May 19, 2025. It was noted that the case was being investigated by anti-terrorist unit officers.
