The third stage of the Russia cycling race will be held in Yaroslavl
On June 20, Yaroslavl, the capital of the Golden Ring of Russia, will host the third stage of the Russia multi-day cycling race. Participants will enjoy a 9-kilometer route through the central streets of the city surrounded by the most important sights, including the Yaroslavl Kremlin, the Yaroslavl Architectural Museum-Reserve, the Drama Theater and others. The event is supported by the Russian Cycling Federation and the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.
"Yaroslavl is one of the oldest cities in historical Northeastern Russia and the capital of the Golden Ring, so it was very important for us to bring one of the stages of our cycling race here. Compared to the previous stage, we have abandoned the intercity format, making it so that both professional cyclists and participants of the cycling festival will be able to admire the main sights of this beautiful city. This time we expect more than 700 participants at the start," said Nazari Kolomiets, head of sports projects at the League of Heroes.
The bike race starts at 8:00 a.m. and lasts until 10:00 a.m. — participants will complete a total of seven laps with a total length of 63 km. The launch will be accompanied by a diverse cultural program, including performances by local musical groups, a gastronomic festival and an arts and crafts fair, which will last on the central square of the city until 12:00.
In addition, a cycling festival will be held for residents and guests of the city, in which anyone, regardless of professional training, will be able to ride a 9 km long circle through the historical part of the city. It is expected that more than 600 cyclists will take part in it.
The winners and prize-winners will be determined at all stages and in the overall standings among men and women. Mobile technical assistance and maintenance tents will be available in the fan zone.
