The drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which tried to attack Moscow on June 16, could have been launched from the Kharkiv and Sumy regions. This was stated by the Honored military pilot of Russia, Major General Vladimir Popov.

"There are most likely two main directions, but, of course, (drones were launched. — Ed.) from the territory of Ukraine, from the regions closest to the border. These are Kharkiv and Sumy regions," he said in an interview with aif.ru .

According to the expert, the routes of the drones could pass through the Smolensk region or the Tambov region.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced earlier in the day that the Russian Defense Ministry's air defense forces had shot down 15 UAVs on approach to Moscow. During the night, he also reported on 20 downed drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, the total number of downed UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine flying to the capital is 35 units.
