India reports successful test of long-range cruise missile LRLACM

The Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has successfully tested a high-precision long-range cruise missile, the LRLACM, designed to engage ground targets. This was announced on June 15 by the Indian Ministry of Defense.

"DRDO conducted successful flight tests of a long—range land-based cruise missile (LRLACM) from Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha," the agency said in a statement on its website.

It is noted that all the objectives of the tests were fully fulfilled. The launch was overseen by senior DRDO officials, as well as representatives of the Indian Navy and Air Force.

The Associated Press (AP) reported on March 29 that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) conducted a ground test of an updated solid-fuel rocket engine, which in turn is capable of reaching the US mainland. The new engine is made of carbon composite and is capable of developing a maximum thrust of about 2.5 thousand kN, which exceeds the performance of a similar installation tested in September 2025, when the thrust was 1.97 thousand kN.
