The carrot tram car will be transferred to the Moscow Metro Museum

One of the 71-623 tramcars, known to residents of Moscow by the unofficial name "carrot" because of its bright orange coloring, is planned to be transferred to the museum collection of the Moscow Metro. After the completion of work in the capital, the remaining wagons will continue to operate in other regions of Russia. This was reported in the press service of the Moscow subway on Monday, June 15.

Trams of this model have served urban routes for many years. The last "carrots" have completed the transportation of passengers on the temporary route No. 6k. After decommissioning, some of the wagons will be sent to other Russian cities, and one copy will be preserved as a museum exhibit, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

The press service also recalled that the tram fleet renovation program has been fully completed in Moscow. The new low-floor carriages make it possible to increase the comfort of trips, the reliability of transport and the quality of passenger service.

Currently, the capital's fleet includes 604 modern trams manufactured by PC Transport Systems. Among them are 464 Vityaz-Moscow three-section wagons and 140 Lvenok-Moscow single-section trams, Moscow 24 writes.

Earlier it was reported that passenger operation of trams model 71-623 in Moscow has been fully completed. The last cars of this series operated on the temporary route No. 6k, which connected the Vostochny Bridge and the Brattsevo district.
