A man was killed when an electric train hit in St. Petersburg.
In the Kalininsky district of St. Petersburg, a 55-year-old man was killed as a result of an electric train collision. The Department of Transport of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the North-Western Federal District announced this on Monday, June 15.
The hit-and-run occurred at the Ruchi railway station. According to the agency, an electric train traveling on the St. Petersburg-Finlyandsky - Priozersk route hit a 55–year-old local resident who was crossing the tracks at a forbidding traffic light.
As a result of the hit-and-run, the man suffered life-threatening injuries. He died on the spot, clarifies 78.ru .
The transport police noted that the driver repeatedly gave sound signals and applied emergency braking, but it was not possible to avoid hitting a person. All the circumstances of the incident will be established as part of an organized check.
