Sobyanin spoke about the work on the preservation of cultural heritage sites

Since the beginning of 2026, Moscow has issued more than 500 permits for the preservation of cultural heritage sites. This was announced by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in the Maks messenger.

According to him, research and exploration work is currently underway at more than 130 sites. In particular, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Leo Tolstoy's birth, specialists are preparing for the restoration of the Lopukhins' urban estate - Stanitskaya on Prechistenka, where the writer's museum is located. A restoration project is also being developed for the building of the kitchen-dining room of the School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, the Higher Art and Technical Workshops on Myasnitskaya Street.

More than 300 cultural heritage sites are currently under restoration. Among them is the main house of the Okhotnikov city estate on Prechistenka Street, which is an example of the Moscow Empire style. In the middle of the 19th century, the Lev Polivanov Gymnasium was located in the building.

In addition, work has begun on the restoration of wall paintings in the New Cathedral of the Don Stavropol Monastery.

According to the mayor, repair work is currently being carried out on 70 cultural heritage sites, and emergency work is underway on another 40. In particular, in the building of the Pravda newspaper plant, specialists are dismantling emergency sections of floors and carrying out work to close the heating circuit.
