The regions with the highest risk of highly profitable CTP contracts are named

The Republic of Dagestan became the leader in terms of the share of CTP contracts transferred to the reinsurance pool for the period from April last year to March this year. In this region, the indicator exceeds the national average by almost nine times. This was announced by the press service of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA) on June 15.

A reinsurance pool is a common insurance fund, where insurers share among themselves part of the CTP risks of those clients who are potentially unprofitable for them. In Dagestan, 75.3% of the concluded CTP contracts were transferred to the pool during the specified period. The Republic of Ingushetia came in second place with 48.8% of highly profitable contracts. The Chechen Republic became the third (48.7%).

As noted in the RSA, despite the high rates in these regions, there is a positive downward trend. Compared to the same period a year earlier, the share of highly profitable contracts decreased in the Republics of Dagestan, Ingushetia and Chechnya by 5.6 percentage points (percentage points), 10.1 percentage points and 14.3 percentage points, respectively.

For comparison, in Russia as a whole, the average share of CTP contracts transferred to the reinsurance pool for the reporting period was 8.5%, having decreased by 0.7 percentage points over the year. The lowest share of CTP contracts in the reinsurance pool was recorded in Moscow (3.5%) and St. Petersburg (3.3%).

On June 11, the RSA announced that the level of CTP payments, including business expenses, exceeds 100% in more than a third of the country's regions. Thus, the excess of payments over the premiums collected makes the avtograzhdanki segment unprofitable in these regions.
