Axios reported on the US denial of the unfreezing of $12 billion of Iran's assets

A senior American official denied Iran's statement denied Iran's claim to have allegedly unblocked $12 billion of Iran's frozen funds without preconditions as part of a settlement with the United States. This was announced on June 15 by Axios journalist Barak Ravid on the social network X.

"This is completely untrue. This is a pay—for-results deal, and the frozen funds will not be unblocked until the Iranians fulfill their obligations," the statement said.
