US President Donald Trump said that if negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program of the United States are disrupted, two scenarios can be adopted. The words of the American leader were quoted on June 14 by The New York Times (NYT) newspaper.

It clarifies that if a final agreement is not reached between Washington and Tehran on the nuclear program, the United States may resume military strikes against Iran. Another option, according to Trump, could be for the United States to play the role of "guardian of the Middle East" in exchange for 20% of the region's revenues.

According to the newspaper, the aides of the American president expect that a new stage of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program will begin on Friday in Switzerland.
