Irada Zeynalova spoke about her work as an ambassador

The Russian Ambassador to Mauritius, Irada Zeynalova, said on June 14 that working as an ambassador turned out to be the most difficult activity for her, because it requires continuous and deep participation from her.

"It's incredibly hard to be an ambassador. It's about the difference between solid and beautiful. Between journalism and diplomacy. When you're a journalist, you quickly ran in, grabbed the information, ran away, put it on the air, and you're a handsome man," she told TASS.

Zeynalova added that for the first time, diplomatic work set her the task of working "without a single exhalation at all." She also noted that, unlike journalistic work, the difficulties that a diplomat faces are never systematic.

On November 1, 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Mauritius, Irada Zeynalova, the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. After that, the journalist stated that she was ending her career in the media and "would no longer be a journalist."
