A seven-year-old boy who disappeared during a family vacation in Karelia has been found dead. This was announced on June 14 by the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

"The body has been lifted out of the water. It was handed over to the police," the publication on the website says.

According to the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Karelia, on June 12, a group of four adults and two children from St. Petersburg went on vacation to the island of Yesisaari, located on Lake Ladoga.

After a while, the relatives noticed that the boy was missing, and began searching for him, which did not bring results. After that, the adults contacted the emergency services.

The investigative authorities have opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence").

Two people, the captain and a passenger, disappeared on June 5 after a boat capsized in the Ust-Ilimsky reservoir in the Irkutsk region. The small vessel KS-100 capsized at a distance of 4 km from the coast and sank. Two people trapped in the water have disappeared, and their search continues.
