- Poland learned about Navrotsky's ultimatum to Zelensky on the Order of the White Eagle
Polish President Karol Nawrocki has given the Ukrainian side limited time to resolve the issue related to the possible deprivation of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, of the Order of the White Eagle. This was reported on June 13 by the newspaper Rzeczpospolita.
"The time given to the Ukrainian side, according to our sources, is not infinite. It's more about days than weeks," the publication says.
According to the newspaper, Warsaw considers the pause in decision-making as a "window of opportunity" for Kiev. It is clarified that Navrotsky may abandon the idea of depriving Zelensky of Poland's highest state award in the event of renaming a military unit named after the UPA (the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, an extremist organization banned in the Russian Federation).
Polish MP Grzegorz Placek on May 29 called for Zelensky to be stripped of the Order of the White Eagle. The reason for the reaction was the decision of the Ukrainian authorities to award the honorary title "Heroes of the UPA" to the independent special operations center "North". On May 29, the Polish Foreign Ministry announced that it had summoned the Ukrainian Ambassador to Warsaw, Vasyl Bodnar, to whom they strongly protested Zelensky's decision.
In Poland, on June 1, the president was advised to apologize for the glorification of Bandera. On June 1, Polish Minister-Coordinator of the special Services Tomasz Semoniak stressed that Zelensky's glorification of the Nazis leads to a loss of sympathy for the Polish people and is a political mistake.
