The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not believe in the encirclement of its forces in Konstantinovka

The Ukrainian command refused to believe that the assault units of the 4th Brigade of the Southern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Russia had entered Konstantinovka and surrounded the Ukrainian military there. This was announced on June 14 by the commander of the assault company of regiment 1194 with the call sign Jarius.

"Their (the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). — Ed.) the command did not believe and thought that maybe there were some groups of ours who miraculously entered, but there were many more of them. The city was almost surrounded and under our control," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the officer, Russian attack aircraft used the tactics of small sabotage groups when entering the city. This allowed them to gradually accumulate, clean up occupied neighborhoods and move further into Konstantinovka.

"Somewhere it was necessary to go around, somewhere to go to the rear, to the flank of the enemy. And when they had accumulated enough, they began to clean up," said Jarius.

On June 11, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the Russian Armed Forces had completely taken control of the eastern districts of Konstantinovka, as well as reached its northeastern outskirts. It was noted that the Russian military was destroying an encircled group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the southwestern part of the city and on the territory of a local metallurgical plant.
